I laughed, “You had me worried. I guess you’ll have to find another girlie boy to watch your house. Just don’t fall in love with him.”
Nathan grinned, “I thought about that, but no. Your mother has graciously agreed to watch my house. Your dad is happy to stay in Abilene by himself.”
I moved to where I sat straddling Nate on the couch. I said, “I love you Nathan Adams!” I placed a hand on either side of his head to hold it and kissed him deeply.

Stephanie and I were somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean heading towards Ireland before continuing on to London. Nate had to leave a week before we did. I felt so alone with him gone.
Steph said, “This has been a wild ride, Amber.”
I gave Stephanie a puzzled look, “I thought the flight has actually been rather smooth.”
Frowning, Steph said, “No. I meant from that afternoon Dad brought you over to the house and told me to make a girl out of you to right now. I mean, you’re now the famous yourself girlfriend to a famous and very hot actor. You’re a famous model. You’re going to be a famous actress. It’s almost like a storybook.”
“It’s insane,” I nodded in agreement. “I may ask you to pinch me to make sure I’m not dreaming.”
Steph pinched my arm.
I yelped in pain, “I didn’t mean that literally!”
Steph just chuckled.
We rode in silence for well over ten minutes. Steph reading some sappy romance novel on her phone and I was playing a game on mine.
I looked over at Steph and said, “Were you joking the other week when you said your dad could arrange a quick and quiet trip to Thailand?”
Steph slowly shook her head. She said, “Dad can definitely arrange that. Are you interested?”
With a sly grin I said, “Maybe…”
